Get to know the Center for Crime Science better: Who we are, what our role is, what we do, and how we serve as a crucial mechanism in solving crime problems.

Who we are

The Center for Crime Science was established under the Royal Police Cadet Academy (RPCA) in Thailand with support from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT). It is envisioned as a regional multi-disciplinary knowledge hub that brings together research, policy, and practice to address contemporary crime challenges. By integrating expertise from criminology, policing, data science, law, and social sciences, the Center aims to foster evidence-based crime prevention, enhance policing effectiveness, and support sustainable justice reform. Through research, training, and regional collaboration, the Center serves as a platform for innovation, knowledge exchange, and capacity building for law enforcement and criminal justice professionals across Southeast Asia.

What we do

The Center for Crime Science works to enhance crime prevention and criminal justice systems across Southeast Asia through three core pillars:

Knowledge Development
and Research

We conduct research and generate evidence-based knowledge to
address complex and evolving
forms of crime— such as human trafficking, cybercrime, corruption, drug trafficking, and money laundering. Our research applies interdisciplinary methods rooted in Crime Science to inform innovative and practical solutions.

Capacity Building and Training

We develop and deliver training programmes for law enforcement agencies and criminal justice personnel, focusing on emerging technologies, investigative
techniques, and the application of scientific methods to crime analysis and prevention. These include both foundational and advanced courses,
as well as regional seminars and public lectures.

Knowledge Sharing
and Public Engagement

Through online platforms, academic conferences, and outreach events,
we disseminate knowledge to diverse audiences—including policymakers, civil society, and vulnerable communities. We aim to raise
public awareness of crime risks
and build social resilience through informed engagement.

Together, these pillars support our mission to become a regional knowledge hub of interdisciplinary expertise,
strengthening crime prevention and justice responses in ASEAN.

We aim to be : Hub of Knowledge in Crime Science for ASEAN The Center for Crime Science aspires to become a leading regional hub of knowledge and innovation in crime science and policing. Our vision is to create a lasting ecosystem that brings together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and academics to collaboratively address crime in all its complexity.

We aim to:
1) Lead interdisciplinary knowledge exchange on crime prevention and criminal justice.
2) Strengthen ASEAN regional cooperation by bridging law enforcement, academia, and civil society.
3) Be a driver of evidence-based policymaking, offering insights that inform sustainable, ethical, and effective approaches to crime management.
4) Empower practitioners through access to cutting-edge research, technology, and training.
5) Foster crime literacy and public awareness, particularly among youth and vulnerable populations.
