Academic Seminar on Financial Crime and Future Crime

On March 7, 2026, the Center for Crime Science, in collaboration with the Criminology and Criminal Justice Program, Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, organized an academic seminar titled:

“Financial Crime, Money Laundering, and Future Crime: Tracing the Flow of Grey Money and Cryptocurrency”

The seminar was held at Singhdam Space, 1st Floor, Kasem Uta-yanin Building (Political Science 60th Anniversary Building), Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University.

The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Youngsub Lee, Assistant Professor of Crime Science from City University of Hong Kong, who delivered a lecture and participated in a discussion on the topic:
“Financial Crime, Money Laundering, Future Crime and Policing.”

The seminar also featured academic discussions on several key issues related to financial crime in the digital era, including:

  •  Forensic Accounting: Mechanisms for preventing and suppressing economic crime
  • Approaches to Preventing and Combating Money Laundering through Cryptocurrency Transactions
  • Preventing Crime in Decentralized Finance (DeFi): A Case Study of the “Rug Pull” Phenomenon
  • Measures to Prevent Electronic Transaction Fraud through Artificial Intelligence Technology
  • Artificial Intelligence and Crime Prevention

The event fostered a dynamic exchange of knowledge and perspectives among participants. It concluded with a Q&A session with the speakers, allowing attendees to engage in close and meaningful discussions.

This seminar served as another important platform for building knowledge and raising awareness about financial crime in the digital world, while also promoting academic collaboration to address the challenges of future crime.
