The 1st Symposium on Crime Science: Building Thailand’s Crime Science and Justice Innovation Ecosystem
A significant milestone in advancing Thailand’s Crime Science Ecosystem and Justice Innovation
Throughout the symposium, participants from academia, the public and private sectors, and practitioner communities exchanged knowledge through a diverse programme of activities. These included the opening ceremony, keynote sessions delivered by national and international experts, panel discussions, the formalisation of academic cooperation, hands-on workshops, and demonstrations of Crime Science innovations.
Key topics explored throughout the event included developing Crime Science through Evidence-Informed Policy and Practice, translating research into practice, advancing public safety innovation, promoting Evidence-Based Policing, and establishing collaborative mechanisms among academics, policymakers, and practitioners. These efforts aim to generate knowledge and innovations that can be applied effectively in real-world settings.
Another important outcome of the symposium was the formalisation of academic and research cooperation among network partners, together with the advancement of the Practitioner Research Pool concept. This mechanism seeks to systematically translate practice-driven questions into research, policy development, and innovation.
